The Automated High-Resolution Microscopy group develops and establishes analytical methods for drug discovery and digital pathology. High-resolution microscopy methods such as STED microscopy are used, which enable the visualization of cellular structures on the nanoscale. In addition to the development of automation solutions for STED microscopy, the range of services also includes the evaluation of the acquired image data using innovative analysis algorithms. High-throughput screening also allows the investigation of the influence of pharmacologically active substances on the nanostructure of (living) cells. In addition, the group generates genome-edited cell culture model systems to image rare diseases in the laboratory and to characterize them with the available microscopy systems.
