The Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP works in the areas of drug discovery research, preclinical and clinical model development, and clinical research. Fraunhofer ITMP aims at building a bridge between basic research into disease etiology and the development of medicines by pharmaceutical companies. This includes the development of predictive pharmacological models in order to make the earliest possible statements about the efficacy and safety of drugs, thus detecting aberrations and side effects even before the onset of costly clinical phases and to avoid high failure rates. Fraunhofer ITMP also focuses on the development of biological assay systems, highly automated drug screening (high-throughput screening, high-content screening and virtual screening), the identification of biomarkers for the diagnosis of diseases, the monitoring of preclinical and clinical studies, as well as on pharmacological bioinformatics.
No matter if you are a student, doctoral candidate, vocational trainee, young professional or an experienced professional, at Fraunhofer ITMP you will find diverse tasks and positions with creative leeway and development potential.
